The two month count down is on for Baby boy, and I’m finally starting to put together his nursery and begin Kennedy’s transition to her new big girl room. Admittedly, I was much more prepared at this stage with Kennedy. I’m definitely feeling second baby syndrome with my procrastination, but we’ll get there 🙂
I made some good progress this past weekend – thanks for all the positive feedback! It truly means the world, and you inspire me to keep designing and doing what I love each day. I wanted to share my design board for the space, so you can see my ultimate vision and also consolidate all the links for those who requested them. I’m so glad you all are loving our little guy’s golden retriever themed nursery as much as I am 🙂

Wainscoting:
Luckily, I had a good foundation in the room with the wainscoting paneling and neutral paint from Kennedy’s nursery. The paint matched the new wallpaper well so no changes were required – colors are Benjamin Moore Silver Satin for the wainscoting and Antique White for the walls. You can read about my DIY paneling here.
Golden Retriever Wallpaper:
Those who know me well, know my total obsession with our first baby, our golden retriever Sadie. When I came across this adorable golden retriever wallpaper, I just knew I had to make that the theme of our son’s room and built my entire design around the paper. This shop has the most darling kids decor – so glad I stumbled upon them and highly recommend checking them out!
Crib:
Kennedy’s gold crib, which I adore, is still in the room (seen in progress pic above) since she is still occupying the space. However, because she will need the crib in her new room, I ordered a wood sage green crib for baby boy which should arrive in October. Two babies under two, both in cribs…we will have our hands full 🙂
Rug:
I love the look of plaid rugs in kids rooms, so knew I wanted to incorporate one somehow. I found a lot of great options, but landed on a neutral one which I think works great in the space.
Dresser:
After exploring a few different antique and thrifted dresser options on facebook marketplace, I got impatient and decided to purchase the same IKEA dresser I got for Kennedy because the price is unbeatable and I know it works great in this space. I purchased black/brown, and replaced knobs with new rattan knobs.
Mirror:
I purchased the window pane mirror at a local antique store a few years ago, and it was previously a chippy red. I painted in black to match the dresser, and am still not sure it will stay, but I think it could work in here.
Artwork:
I was inspired by this artwork from the same shop I purchased the dog wallpaper, but the prints were a little too small. I was thrilled to find the same prints/artist on Etsy, so I was able to order them in a bigger size and frame them on my own. I love the wood frame with black matted look, so mimicked that as well for my prints.
Flushmount Light:
I purchased this light, but it’s currently on backorder. I think the rattan will really make a statement in his room and can’t wait for it to arrive!
Rocking Chair:
Keeping the one that I had in Kennedy’s nursery. I love it and the off white color works well in the new space.
Other Accessories/Room Décor:
I’m starting to collect a few things to decorate, and also repurposing some of what was already in Kennedy’s nursery. Thankful I went neutral, so that it works for any gender.
Here’s links for I have so far…more pictures and sources to come.
Update: The nursery is complete 🙂 Thanks so much for all the love – the support has been overwhelming!
