I’ve always loved the look of layered rugs. It’s a great way to add depth and texture a room, and it’s become a staple in most of my e-designs for living rooms and bedrooms. My preference is a natural fiber rug (like jute or sisal) with a vintage/patterned rug layered on top, but there are lots of options for mixing different textural elements, patterns and styles. In a recent client project, I sourced some beautiful affordable options to achieve this cozy look that I wanted to share, as well as some best practices by Studio McGee for layering rugs.
