I took on my first eDesign client a few months ago (yay!), which happened to be new construction. New builds are fun because I get to start with a blank canvas, creating designs with elements that are a true reflection of the people and personalities that occupy the space.
Whether I’m designing for a brand new or an older historic home, a staple to all my designs is mixing old and new. I always like to add some imperfect elements to give the “lived in” cozy feel and add character to a space, because cozy fits with any design style 🙂 For this particular project, an accent lamp was one of the imperfect elements that I sourced, because I believe lighting is a small change that has huge impact on the way a space looks and feels.
Ever since my sourcing session, I’ve been obsessing a little over vintage-inspired lamps. There are so many unique textures and shapes in earthy and neutral tones that can add a lot of character to any design style, whether you prefer farmhouse, traditional, boho or modern. Even if vintage or rustic isn’t your style – don’t be afraid to mix old and new when in incorporating accent and decorative pieces.
Sharing some beautiful table lamp options I found for some inspiration – Happy Shopping 🙂
